As reported in the UK media:
Eight thousand litres of milk were left to drain away from a tanker parked in a layby near Jacobstowe last week.
The incident happened between 11.15pm on Monday May 2 and 1am on Tuesday May 3. Padlocks had been removed and the milk allowed to flood away.
The Environment Agency were called to assess the level of damage to the environment. The value of the milk is estimated to be at £1,600 and several hundred pounds worth of damage was caused to the vehicle and its equipment.
The tanker was parked in a
lay-by on the A3072 at the time. PC Chapman at Okehampton is investigating.
