On March 31, a large group of activists forced their way into an egg-industry hatchery in Ramat Hakovesh and rescued approx. 200 young chickens.
The activists interrupted the process of separating newly hatched male from female chicks, and the killing of the male chicks in a grinding machine.
14 activists were detained for refusing to leave, and on suspicion of causing damage.
According to one of the activists, "The goal of the operation was to create awareness among the public that 15 thousand chicks are crushed daily by the egg industry in Israel".
